Welcome Mike Ramirez: New Snowboarding Director

We are excited to share that Michael Ramirez will be joining Wy’East Mountain Academy to help lead the next chapter of our snowboard program.

Michael brings more than 15 years of elite coaching and athlete development experience, most recently serving as Head Coach for the U.S. Snowboard Slopestyle & Big Air Team.  Throughout his career, he has coached athletes to Olympic medals, X Games podiums, World Championship success, and World Cup titles while building a reputation for creating strong culture, trust, and long-term athlete growth.

Michael has also led successful snowboard programs at Mammoth Mountain and internationally in New Zealand, with extensive experience in athlete development, coach mentorship, program leadership, and year-round training systems. His background, leadership, and passion for the sport make us incredibly excited about the future of snowboarding at Wy’East.

Michael brings a strong philosophy around mentorship and leadership. His approach centers around developing great people first and creating an environment built on trust, progression, resilience, and fun.  We believe his values strongly align with the mission and culture of Wy’East Mountain Academy.
