Skate Trip Recap: San Francisco, CA
At the beginning of October, Wy’East Mountain Academy’s skate team travelled to San Fransisco, California for a week of skating, sunshine, and industry visits.
Our team hit all of the best places to skate around the city including Pier 7, Waller Street, and Embarcadero Plaza, a very famous and historical skate spot. Embarcadero Plaza will unfortunately going to be torn out soon, however, as one student said “I'm very happy I was able to have the experience before it is gone.” Despite small injuries, equipment failures, and other set backs, our team worked hard and learned new tricks. Some of these skate parks and spots are quickly becoming our favorites.
DLUX, an iconic and SF local brand, welcomed our team into their offices. They gave our skaters an insiders guide into how a new boards, wheels, and other products are developed, manufactured, and produced. One our students, who is the founder and owner of his own board brand, Question Skateboards, especially enjoyed the tour. He said “a big highlight for me was going to the Deluxe office. It was sick to see how there operations work, especially from a brand owners perspective.”
Our team cannot wait to come back next year and enjoy more great skating and food! Check out our Instagram for more content.
