Graduation 2025

WY’EAST MOUNTAIN ACADEMY IS PLEASED TO CONGRATULATE THE GRADUATING CLASS OF 2025!

On May 2nd, 2025, students, families, friends, and staff gathered inside the Building Out Back, the indoor skatepark at Wy’East Mountain Academy lovingly referred to B.O.B., to celebrate the graduating class of 2025. B.O.B. was transformed from a daily skatepark into a unique blend of fine dining elegance and gritty concrete. Leading the graduation ceremony were Head of School Mike Hanley and Academy President Kevin English. Memorable moments from the ceremony included empowering speeches from Valedictorian Ella Grady, Facilities Manager Michael Archer, and Keynote Speaker Kristaps Thompson.

VALEDICTORIAN ADDRESS

Ella Grady, Valedictorian of the class of 2025, addressed her fellow graduates and encouraged them to continue to grow and learn, as they have during their time at Wy’East. You can read her full speech here.

KEYNOTE ADDRESS

Kristaps Thompson, the 2025 Keynote Speaker, is a 2013 graduate of Windell’s Academy who went on to represent Canada on the World Cup slopestyle skiing circuit for several years. After retiring from competitive skiing, he returned to his hometown of Montreal to pursue a degree in Civil Engineering at McGill University. Following his studies, Kristaps joined Deloitte’s Capital Projects team, where he specialized in construction advisory and claims consulting. He now works as a Manager at HKA, a global consultancy focused on risk mitigation, project advisory, and dispute resolution.

THE LUKE “THE DINGO” INSPIRATION AWARD

Wy’East Mountain Academy is proud to present the first recipient of the Luke “The Dingo” Trembath Inspiration Award to graduating senior Jace McAdams. This award, presented by Barbara Edwards, the Dean of Students, is to honor the memory of our late board member, Luke “The Dingo” Trembath. The Dingo Inspiration Award was presented to a student who fully embodied Wy'East Mountain Academy's mission "life improvement through people, place, and passion." This award celebrates a senior who uplifts others, finds meaning in the places they inhabit, and pursues their passions with purpose and joy. In addition to being a hard working and exceptional athlete and student, Jace went above and beyond in helping others feel welcome and creating a loving and vibrant community. Jace made a meaningful contribution and lasting impact on the Wy'East community. Next year, Jace will be returning to Wy’East Academy for a gap year to progress his skiing. After that gap year, Jace will attend Westminster University.

All graduates were accepted into a 4-year university and continues our 5-year streak of 100% college acceptance rate!

The evening's festivities included a dinner paired with the premiere of "Varsity," a film showcasing the athletic prowess of Wy'East students. Varsity made a splash on the internet with its YouTube debut on May 19, 2025.

Additional photos of the event, as well as a recording of the ceremony, can be found on Facebook.
