Every participant must enroll in at least one class or approved learning option. Academics take place from 4–6 p.m. each weekday, allowing students to focus on riding during the day while continuing to work toward their educational goals.
Choose from Wy’East’s regular Edgenuity courses, focused PSAT/SAT preparation, or an approved outside course. Noncredit options are welcome and may include driver’s education, photography, or the online portion of a Wilderness First Responder (WFR) course.
Wy’East’s academic team will help coordinate a learning option that fits each student’s goals and length of stay. Course credit and completion depend on the selected course and its requirements. Families considering a one-week stay can discuss their coursework plan with admissions.
-
The three-week program includes one week living on Wy’East’s campus and two weeks at the academy’s Government Camp house near Mount Hood. Residential staff support students as they build friendships, develop independence, and balance riding with coursework.
