Mountain Bike OVERVIEW

Mountain Bike

The Wy’East Mountain Academy’s Mountain Bike Program is a training experience designed for anyone passionate about improving their skills as a mountain biker. Regardless of skill level, we offer a comprehensive athletic program that emphasizes progression, results, and personal growth while fostering teamwork and discipline. Our program prepares athletes to compete and perform at the highest level of competition or events. Wy’East has a proven track record of developing professional athletes who excel both in mountain biking and in the classroom.

Goal Setting

Goal setting sessions happen multiple times a year within the snowboard program to help identify the purpose for each student’s time at Wy’East. We believe that creating a pathway of short term goals to achieve the long term goals is a crucial component for the success of everyone on the team. Our coaching staff will work closely to understand the individual goals set for each student by shaping a rolling four-year plan with key performance indicators (KPI’s).  The snowboard program KPI’s are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-Based (SMART Goals), which are transparent to parents, students, coaches, life coaches, and academic staff.  It is this entire 360 Support system that helps ensure student growth and success at all stages.

Industry Outreach

Our history and connection with Milepost 35 Mountain Bike Camp opens countless opportunities for our students to network with brands and industry professionals who are already invested in the community. Using our long lasting industry relationships, our coaching staff create opportunities to get the athletes directly involved through marketing content, brand facility tours, and introductions to brand representatives and team managers.

Fall Semester

Fall semester here on campus is a great time to wrap up the race/ride season and start to think about your goals for the upcoming season. Fall is when we offer our offseason training camps in Virgin Utah, Bellingham Washington, and other locations across the country that are considered legendary for skills progression. While home on campus, our location offers access to some of the best trails in the Pacific Northwest, as well as our facility on campus which features an outdoor airbag and mulch jump perfect for learning new tricks.

Winter Semester

Winter at Wy’East is the perfect place to start your intensive training schedule so that you can become the best rider you can become in spring and summer. This training includes time in the gym gaining strength off the bike that will help to transfer to strength on the bike. In addition, you will still be spending time on the bike but more so on the dirt jumper than on the big bike in our indoor skatepark which will help you to increase the amount of bike control you have. During this semester we’ll take longer trips off campus to take advantage of warmer weather and give an opportunity to put those skills to the test.
